Returns & Refunds policy

Customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract within 14 days without providing any reason. This withdrawal period is mandated by German and EU consumer protection law for distance selling.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which the customer, or a third party authorised by the customer who is not the carrier, has taken possession of the delivered artwork.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must notify us through an unambiguous declaration. Notification by e-mail is sufficient.

Upon receiving a valid withdrawal, we will refund all payments related to the order no later than 14 days after the day we have received the returned goods. The refund will be issued using the same payment method originally selected by the customer. No additional fees will be charged for the reimbursement. A refund may be withheld until the returned artwork has been received and inspected.

Conditions for Returns

To ensure eligibility for a return under the statutory withdrawal right, the following conditions apply:

  • The artwork must be returned within the 14-day withdrawal period.

  • The artwork must be returned in its original condition, without signs of damage, modification, or misuse.

  • The artwork must be packaged securely, ideally in the original packaging, to avoid damage during return transport. The customer is liable for any loss of value resulting from handling the goods beyond what is necessary to verify their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

Exclusions from Returns

In accordance with § 312g Abs. 2 BGB, the following items are excluded from the right of withdrawal:

  • Custom-made or personalised artworks, including commissions produced according to customer specifications.

  • Goods that are not suitable for return due to their nature, including items that may be damaged by opening or that cannot be repackaged safely.

  • Goods that have been opened and are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons (not typically applicable to artworks, but retained for legal completeness).

  • Goods that, due to their nature, become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.

We reserve the right to refuse returns of any merchandise that does not meet the required legal or packaging conditions.

The customer is responsible for the cost and risk of returning the artwork. Returns must be sent to the following address:

We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for artworks lost or damaged during return transport. Refunds cannot be issued without actual receipt of the returned item or verifiable proof of delivery.

Gifts

If the artwork was marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to the recipient, the recipient may receive a shop credit for the value of the returned artwork. A gift certificate will be issued once the returned item has been received and inspected.

If the artwork was not marked as a gift at the time of purchase, or if the purchaser had the item delivered to themselves before gifting it, any refund will be issued to the original purchaser.
